If your looking to get into straight razor shaving this kit is it. The boker razor is top notch, nicely honed and sharp as hell. The soap is nice and smells good. The rest of the kit is more of an upgrade as you can kind of deal, but works well enough to get you started. The strop is synthetic but serviceable enough, you won't mind terribly if you cut it up while you learn. The brush is also synthetic and works well enough. I am able to get a nice lather out of it without too much difficulty. As for straightrazor.com, I ordered on a Sunday evening. They got right to work on it Monday and shipped it out that day. It was waiting for me here at home on Wednesday. I have nothing bad to say about that. All in all it was a great purchase from a great site and I wouldn't hesitate to do it all over again.
