  2. New at straight razor shaving but here are my thoughts on this razor 5 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Sep 2015

Nice, sharp blade, scales are functional but not much more than that. I have paid for hot towel shaves at the barber but have never done my own so I really have very limited experience on which to base this review. Hoping that my first impression may help other newcomers. I was advised to start off with easy sections and then finish with my safety razor on the more complicated areas for a couple weeks. So I decided that I would straight shave only the sides of my face down to the jaw line, one pass only, until I get more comfortable and fluid with the task. I have been able to shave both sides several times with no nicks. The side is nice and flat with no obstacles to maneuver around but I am still pleased with the results. The most difficult part so far is stropping the blade. While I would have liked to have better quality scales they are really not the important part. It's the blade that does the work and it works great. I spent a couple weeks researching then a few days pricing before making the decision on this brand and model. So far I am very pleased. I recommend this razor to anybody wanting to make the switch. With any luck I'll be shaving the whole face with this blade before the end of November. Hoping that when my wife returns from NYC she won't use it to chop off the fingers I use to type my credit card number.
