Great product for practicing stropping and getting an idea how to hold and use a straight razor without the worry of cutting yourself. Glad I saw this first and can't wait to get shaving with the real thing. Also it shipped fast, got it in 3 days.

I was little disappointed that he razor wasn't razor sharp but I took it to a professional to sharpen it and my first shave was great... Baby Smooth... I was afraid of technique but with it being so sharp it made it simple. After my shave and dash of aftershave pat dry and added small amount of baby powder to test my smoothness it was Baby soft... loved it thank you... can't wait to get the whole experience with the leather belt and shave cream

this was the best idea. Never used a straight razor before so went this way. Ya guys, ya need to practice this. Watched all the youtube videos, and tried it..what a mess..couldn't use my weak hand, couldn't hold skin tight, could not see what I was doing. still have that issue to work out. I could tell when I had the angle right to my face but was not there most of the shave. The shaving creams are wonderful, yep ya got to learn everything associated with straight razor shaving. Stroping, honing, scuttles, but doing things the way it was says a bunch about you.

Hello!
I'm planning to gift my boyfriend a razor. He has never used a straight razor to shave, but has been wanting to learn for a while now.
I was wondering if it made more sense to buy this one or the vintage beginner's razor?
When you say the blade comes unsharpened, does that mean I will also have to buy a strop and hone for him to sharpen the blade before he sues it to shave?

Nice razor with the inscription I wanted, but the razor arrived at the house un-sharpened. The Company's web-site doesn't have a link ot contact customer service to rectify the problem. Wish I had noticed this before I ordered the product. If I had I would have purchased from another company.
** Company Note**

However, please note that the practice razor you purchased is supposed to be un-sharpened, as noted in the description: "This razor will not come sharp. It is a flat ground blade (That can be honed and used) for learning how to Shave, Strop, Hone, Polish and care for your razor."
